Iran to inspect 40 Russian plants to build Sirik power plant

MOSCOW, Sep 7 (PRIME) -- Iran plans to inspect over 40 Russia’s industrial facilities, which will be put on a final list of vendors for 1.4-gigawatt Sirik thermal power project, in September and October, the Industry and Trade Ministry said following a meeting between Minister Georgy Kalamanov and an Iranian delegation on Thursday.

Kalamanov said that the Sirik power facility is one of the biggest Russia’s export thermal energy projects.

In February, Russia and Iran started building the plant in the Hormozgan Province in southern Iran, which will comprise four 350-megawatt units. It envisages a 1.2 billion euro financing by Russia and is to be completed until the end of 2021.
